Our Story
Our journey began in 2016 when Craig and Colleen Matthews followed their passion for adventure and classic cars. Craig with his mechanical background at the VW Engine centre and Southside VW, brought a wealth of expertise to the venture. With 'Puff' as our first Kombi, swiftly followed by the acquisition of 'Paddy' just a month later, our fleet began its journey.
In 2017, our beloved Kombi, Pippa, took centre stage as a featured vehicle on the Heineken 3 Australia Tour, marking a milestone in our growing story.
Craig, with his skills and meticulous attention to detail, has lovingly restored and maintained each member of our VW family, ensuring they exude the charm and reliability that define our service.
In the early days of 2024, Craig and Colleen passed the business to their son, James. This transition has allowed them to devote their energy to their successful party hire venture. James, deeply ingrained in the family's automotive legacy, practically grew up amidst the hum of engines and the nostalgic scent of vintage upholstery. His affinity for our fleet was cultivated through experiences shared with Craig like the spirited 'Dubs by the Pub' VW show 'n' shine runs. Unsurprisingly, his first driving lessons were behind the wheel of our iconic Beetle, Lucy, back when she sported a humble milk crate as a seat and lacked conventional doors.
As a family run business, we take pride in providing a superior service that only comes with generations of dedication and passion. From our humble beginnings to the bright future ahead, we invite you to join us as we continue to create memories and embark on adventures together.
